I had some problems with Maxtor and Windows XP -- so I jumped ship and bought the Western Digital becuase it had the "Designed for Windows XP" label. All I did was plugged it in and booted with the Windows XP CD and I was up and running in no time! So this drive is great for people who are novices at hard drive installs(and are using XP)!!
